Republic Bier Halle is a very cool, underground beer hall and restaurant. This buzzing city centre haunt is modelled on the European style bars; bench seating, rock cage walls and cool chrome lighting gives the place something of an apres ski vibe. As the name suggests, Republic Bier Halle serves a mighty selection of draughts and bottled beer from all over the world. The food here is also a major draw, with bratwursts, goulash, burgers, and the occasional hog roast, though its the 2-4-1 pizzas that are the real winner.
The stylish Alpine surroundings, extensive drinks menu and good eats have masses of trendy young professionals flocking. While the cheap eats, banging tunes and potent brews lure the students. The outside terrace also makes for some pretty chilled sunny day swilling. The weekend pre-club nights kick of with DJs at 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays with resident DJs spinning the tracks. If you're looking for a cool, unpretentious spot, look no further.
