The Arches is more than just a Glasgow City Centre club. Along with its club nights, cafe and bar, it's also an internationally acclaimed, not-for-profit cultural hub. Sprawling through a network of seven railway arches and set on two floors, the surroundings do the talking with striking spaces, soaring ceilings, original brickwork and a - literally - underground feel. With a stock of regular club nights (Carl Cox is patron), funding the less-profitable-but-just-as-valuable programme of theatre and arts events, the mingled agenda enhances the vibe of this subterranean playground. 

By day, pop into the cafe for eats ranging from refined lunch options, to breakfast comfort food, or hang out with friends in cool, laid back surroundings. By night, the food goes up a notch with pre-theatre specials on performance evenings, while the venue playshost to gigs or theatre as well as visual art, dance, comedy and film. After hours the club nights kick off with a blend of student friendly fun and games (there's a bouncy castle, swimming pool and a wedding chapel on Wednesdays), while weekends welcome a range of talented DJs, ranging from raw talent to big names pedalling house, techno and electro with a few surprises mixed in. Not to be missed is their headline club night, Pressure (last Friday of the month), for the best of techno and deep house music. Not-for-profit partying makes for guilt free, good times.
