Stepping into Jamboree in Limehouse is a bit like stepping into your Grandma's garage/attic; filled with antique gramophones, dimly-lit lampshades and long-broken musical instruments on the walls. Plant yourself in the cosy armchairs, comfy seats or at a group/couples' table, with standing tables available for reservation until 9pm. Amongst the interesting flora and fauna stands a small stage that hosts music from various corners of the globe. There are jazz Thursdays, traditional Cretan Wednesdays and Fridays are a folk night. Sundays are days of sporadic theatre, spoken word, video shoots and parties. But perhaps most importantly every night is a cheap drinks night, with a focus on the glorious cocktails at a great prices!
Brought to you by Rena Beck and her music producer partner, Jamboree started off life in 2009 as a member's only club with the owner's friends playing, but has since grown to provide live music from a wide-range of well-known bands. Yet, no matter how many artists grace the humble stage in Jamboree, its intimacy and DIY ambience is friendly and focuses on enjoying the interesting music and surroundings.
