Cane and Grain is a bar in the Northern Quarter set to dish up ribs, rum, bourbon and beer - carnivorous AND boozy, that's our kind of joint.
Brought to you by Ross Mackenzie and cocktail whizz-kid, Lyndon Higginson, the good folks behind the likes of some of the coolest Manchester bars, Black Dog Ballroom, Dog Bowl, and The Liars Club, Cane and Grain is a high-end establishment with an unadulterated air of industrial cool; with refined cocktails and a slightly more food focused concept than the other bars in the group. Our recommendations when it comes to Cane and Grains cool concoctions? Try the Bone Yard Julep or the Basil & Coconut Smash.
Taking the place of the former Thomas Restaurant and Bar in the Northern Quarter, 'The First Floor' is an all-seated swanky cocktail bar, whilst the ground-floor, 'The Rib Joint', is all about lunchtime eats and crowds in for after post-work drinks with their hearty South American and Texan inspired fare (we're talking Bacon Popcorn and Dino Beef Ribs). But wait a second, you're heading into 'The Liar's Lounge' for tiki inspired treats once you're done, aren't you?
