Description
The Bar in Chorlton should really be renamed The Pub - as that is definitely what it is. And a very good one at that. It’s conveniently located opposite the Chorlton Metrolink stop and serves a fine collection of real ales on tap - and happily, this selection is displayed on high-up chalk boards for all to see, so you can choose your tipple without having to wander up and down the bar trying to see what’s on today. There are also good Belgian and American beers available and a decent choice of wines as well as teas and fresh coffees, which are enjoyed day and night by professionals, academics and other Chorlton creative types. There is occasional live music here too, and a cracking pub quiz on Monday.
The Bar also serves food - good pub grub including the ubiquitous homemade burger and good value Sunday roasts to enjoy inside by the roaring open fire, in one of the many nooks or outside on the street-side covered terrace while watching the world go by.
As a good ‘ol drinking hole, The Bar is hard to beat. It doesn’t try to be more than the sum of its parts - but when those parts are solid and dependable, there’s no need to.
