Situated in the most beautiful part of Bath, a short walk from the centre, this is the latest venture from the owners of the best foodie country pubs in the South West (The Beckford Arms, The Talbot Inn. The Bath Arms and The Lord Poulett).
The Beckford Bottle Shop & Bistro, awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2020 takes dining reservations for informal, inventive small plate dining, charcuterie and cheeses, alongside an enormous range of wine in lovely surroundings and all served by staff who really care about great hospitality.
Whilst drinks only reservations are not taken the ample sofa space and the informal cellar lounge offer plenty of options for walk in drinkers who may also order from the small plates, cheese & charcuterie menus.
This is an elegant but informal place where Bath locals come for lunch or supper or just pop-in for a great glass of wine and a tasty snack. The inspiration came from the sort of places more commonly found in continental Europe but that are seldom found in the U.K.
All the wine shop’s wines can be opened for a modest corkage charge giving unusually reasonable prices and enormous variety. On Tuesdays, the corkage charge is waived offering all the wines at retail price only.
