Even though there are loads of unique bars in the Northern Ireland capital, sometimes you're after something even more specific; a place of throwbacks and nostalgia, to be exact. Whether Street Fighter or Pac-Man is more your style, these venues offer up some of the most fun things to do.
Here are the best arcades in Belfast, including retro arcade games, old-school consoles, quirky pop-ups and your favourite, competitive amusements.

Best Places To Play Arcade Games In Belfast
Base Arcade Belfast
A pop-up retro arcade experience, Base Arcade takes over Banana Block, the living museum and event space inside PortView Trade Centre, for limited weekend runs throughout the year. Tickets are £20 for adults or £8 for children, giving you access to the space for a four-hour session.
This coin and token-free zone is totally free-play, so there are no hidden costs once you're inside (unless you want to head to the bar, of course). It's decked out with classic games from the 70s, 80s and 90s, as well as pinball machines and a retro console corner.
Reboot Gaming Cafe
Reboot Gaming Cafe is the pick if you want something a little more from your arcade bar in Belfast. The unique venue is partnered with Geek Retreat, making it a hub of celebrating all things geeky, and it's filled with everything from retro arcade gaming and consoles (£5 per hour) to Red Bull F1 racing simulators (£5 for 15 minutes) and 30 high-spec PC gaming rigs (£5 per hour).
For your arcade cabs, think Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat, Star Wars and more. Topping it off? Burgers, handmade sourdough pizzas and milkshakes, alongside free-to-play boardgames.
Hollywood Bowl
While the clue's in the name for what Hollywood Bowl is best known for, upstairs at the Belfast venue, you'll find a floor of arcades and amusements. Better yet, there are two bars and pool tables up there as well.
Nab as many tickets as you can on the classic amusements, for the chance to win prizes, or have a go on competitive games like air hockey and the latest racers.
