Birmingham is in for a treat as a sultry new Japanese cocktail bar is landing in its city centre. The team behind the popular drinking den, The Pineapple Club, is opening Shibuya Underground beneath their bottle shop in the Great Western Arcade. This intimate haunt will feature only 8 seats, along with a focal square-shaped bar to create a sense of theatricality when expert mixologists are creating tasty concoctions.
Boasting simple, yet, detailed menus, in a style referred to as 'omakase' (translating to 'I leave it up to you'), this swish spot’s bartenders focus on serving seasonal ingredients with innovative flair. Be sure to try out their matcha martini, with Ki No Tea dry matcha gin and homemade cordial, accompanied by a short story inspired by Japanese culture. Or opt for a glass of Konishi Gold Shirayuki Daiginjo sake, which has been expertly chosen based on its style, region, and producer.
