Description
The famous piemakers behind Mad O'Rourke's shifted their focus away from their shortcrusts to open a micro-brewery in Birmingham's Digbeth area.
The micro-brewery is the brainchild of Mad O'Rourke's owner Peter Towler and cocktail expert Oliver Webb. As part of the venue's overall open-plan design, five huge tanks will be visible underneath the bar, all filled with freshly brewed beer and real ales. Once each brew has properly developed and matured, it will be served in pints straight from the tanks, therefore cutting out the usual packaging process and ensuring the freshest flavour possible. A number of casks are also on show in the venue's cold room behind the bar.
Inspired by the independent breweries in East London, the main food on offer will be the entire Mad O'Rourke's range of pies, including the famous Desperate Dan pie, a vegan and vegetarian option, and 12 other dishes.
