- Wine Bar
Description
Following on from their success in Worcester, Churchill's wine bar has opened in Birmingham's Mailbox, in the space previously occupied by Bar Epernay. The wine bar stocks more than 300 varieties of wine, port and Champagne and has a revolutionary wine dispenser system that allows wine to be stored for a month.
The bar allows you to try a huge variety of bottles, including ones priced up to £100 through a unique paying system. Guests are given cards that are topped up with an amount of money and then inserted into the machine of their choice, which dispenses the amount accordingly. The smallest measure served if 25ml to allow you to try a bottle before you buy.
The venue also serves food, concentrating on homely and simple dishes that complement wine. Tapas include plates such as red wine and onion glazed chorizo, and tiger prawns in garlic and chilli butter, while sharing boards are piled with charcuterie from Spain and Italy.
