What they say:

Family-owned Bottles has opened a second venue in Birmingham's Mailbox following the success of their first wine bar in Worcester. The new opening is located in the former Bar Epernay and serves more than 300 types of wine, port and Champagne. Using a unique dispenser system, customers use a pre-paid card to pour them the appropriate amount. Owner Richard Everton is keen to avoid the pretentious label often associated with wine, and is offering measures starting from 25ml in order to allow everyone the opportunity to sample even the most expensive bottles of wine.

What we say:

Life is better with a glass of wine in hand and one man who understands this better than most is Richard Everton, with more than 40 years experience in the industry. Fortunately for us he's brought his down-to-earth approach to wine to Brum with the opening of Bottles Birmingham. Using a state-of-the-art wine dispensing system and small measure, Bottles allows you to sample wine for as little as 60p - something we can definitely get on board with. There will also be a menu designed to match the drinks, tuck into a sharing board piled with Italian and Spanish charcuterie or get a selection of the tapas.
