Rev Your Engines: Our Review Of Birmingham's F1® Arcade

Following a successful launch down in London, F1® Arcade - home to Formula 1®'s only official racing simulators - came to Birmingham at the end of last year. It's tipped as a thrilling destination that combines the essence of this popular high-octane racing with top-notch dining and themed cocktails, for the ultimate new take on an activity bar experience. So, I had to head over to check it out.

The F1 Arcade reviews are in - and it's the ideal way to get your real-life Drive to Survive fix.

Walking into F1 Arcade feels like stepping onto the grid of a Formula 1 race. The venue's stylish modern decor, illuminated by ambient lighting that mimics iconic race tracks, sets the scene for an adrenaline-fueled day. Thanks to 53 state-of-the-art, full-motion racing simulators, both seasoned racers and newbies will find their perfect match here, with experiences starting at £15.95 per person.

There are four racing modes and five skill levels, so you can tailor your experience to your preference. Whether you're looking to take it easy or go up against Lewis Hamilton himself, the simulators provide a truly immersive and competitive atmosphere. The thrill of competing against others across head-to-heads and team racing is incomparable, making it an ideal spot for social gatherings.

Birmingham F1 Racing Review | DesignMyNigt

This is the only destination for Birmingham F1 racing.

The racing is perfectly complemented by extensive food and drink offerings. F1 Arcade recently launched a new menu, and it does not disappoint. After a three-race rush, with our adrenaline fuel levels starting to running low, we made way for a pit stop and immediately opted for the chipotle king prawn tacos (£13.50) - accompanied by a moreish mango salsa, lime and a hint of coconut. These went head-to-head with the vegan wild miso mushroom tacos (£8.50), where we were pleasantly surprised to find that rich peanuts and chili oil gave these tacos a winning edge.

To accompany the food, F1 Arcade boasts an extensive drinks list containing a lot of unique, themed cocktails. I opted for Pole Position (£13), then followed up with one for the designated drivers out there - the Baby Driver mocktail (£8) - before heading over to test our reaction times with their in-venue game ‘React’. Only those with the greatest hand-eye coordination and quickest reaction times are able to succeed, giving you that real Formula 1 experience and a good belly laugh. After hopping back on the simulators again to settle the scores, we ordered the new Moroccan ground lamb flatbread (£16.50). Presented pizza-style, the feta and tomato paired incredibly with the lightly spiced Moroccan lamb; putting this meal at the top of our list.
