Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Description

Nestled within and surrounded by some of the most fascinating and beautifully landscaped stretches of greenery in the country, Birmingham Botanical Gardens is home to a Grade II-listed historic Victorian glasshouse and 15 acres of land offering a bio-diverse natural environment to walk arouund.

It showcases preserved gardens that have remained intact since 1829 and features a range of natural habitats from woodlands to bogs. The Alpine Gardens includes multiple themes like flora from Turkish meadows, as well as planting areas created from slate tanks and recycled materials including sinks.

Visit throughout the year to check out an array of events like yoga, live music and movie screenings, plus there's a butterfly house to mosey around too. Finish off your day by grabbing a light bite to eat from the Gardens Café on the Loudon Terrace and tuck into a ham and cheese toastie.
