Description
A grade II listed building built for Ansell's Brewery back in 1867, The Woodman has survived closures, disruptions and more to finally open in 2013 after closure since 2009.
Originally designed by renowned architects James and Lister Lea, the exterior is bound by rich terracotta tiles and ornate bricks that retain true Victorian charm, with the interiors echoing that same vintage flair. Whilst development spurs the pub into modernity with more of a slick gastro feel, Minton tiles and the bar counter remain the same as they ever were.
Set to boast a fanciful new roof terrace, garden exterior and more, The Woodman is sure to come into its own thanks to its new focus on high quality pub grub and real ale that maintain its wholesome heritage.
