What they say:
With a hefty £1m investment behind them, independent pub company Peach Pubs are taking to Edgbaston to open their 17th pub venture. Set to transform the former home of English architect Francis W B Yorke, Peach Pubs are hoping to give this art-deco townhouse a whole new style worthy of 100 drinking guests. Tucked nicely in between Simpsons restaurant and soon to be new cocktail bar The Edgbaston, The High Field is hoping to benefit from the street's bustling footfall.
What we say:
While Edgbaston does have a small collective of bars and pubs, it's about time that the suburb got a new lease of life. Peach Pubs are known for their charming British style and often whimsical decor that could help spur Edgbaston into modernity. A popular suburb for students in Birmingham thanks to the local campus, The High Field is sure to see a lot of footfall from excited young drinkers looking for somewhere else to relax after a weary day of lectures. We just hope that they retain some of the classic art-deco style!
