The Flapper

One of the city's best independent grass-roots music venues, The Flapper is a canalside pub and live music venue in Birmingham with an alt/rock attitude. Located on the banks of Birmingham's canal and the historic James Brindley Walk, this two-storey music venue is known as a mecca for mods, rockers and punks throughout the city.

While upstairs is a rustic and lengthy bar with pool tables, downstairs is an intimate and lively venue for local gigs, big names and festivals alike. You can also perch yourself outside on the canalside beer garden or the pub's second-floor balcony which overlooks the canal, perfect for watching the world go by. Situated a stones throw away from the Utility Arena (formerly the NIA Arena), ICC and Symphony Hall, The Flapper is the place to go for pre-show drinks and food. 

6ix Subs is the venue's food offering; serving subs, topped fries, sides and sauces. Special Sunday Sub Club menu available all day Sunday from 2pm - 7pm offering special Sunday roast subs. Other weekly events include The Flapper famed General Knowledge Quiz every Thursday evening from 8pm.

Their second venue is available for private party bookings and has a 180 person capacity.

A large range of draught beers, ales and cocktails, as well as weekend DJ's and live bands, bottomless brunches and seasonal indie markets. There's something for everyone at The Flapper and all are welcome.
