Description
Opened in 2005, Itihaas is a restaurant bar in Birmingham known for its indulgent dining and relaxed atmosphere, with a plethora of awards under its tasty belt and a selection of inspired Indian dishes to boot. In 2015 it expanded further north, opening up a second venue in Manchester in 2015.
Attention to detail has been pivotal in the creation of Itihaas' decor where carved iron laden doors, gilded woodwork and golden flecks are abundant throughout. From 18th century Indian artefacts and original paintings to carved elephant statues, culture and history are at the heart of Itihaas' interiors be it in their private dining area known as the Tiffin Room, their bar or 60-cover Maharaja restaurant suite downstairs.
Known by celebrities and the city over, 300 year old doors aren't the only thing gilded at Itihaas, the food is too. Boasting award Indian winning chefs from five-star background, Itihaas serve a classic menu of Eastern favourites that Mumbai would be down right proud of. From their a la carte menu to their brasserie style selection, dishes such as Maha Jingah and their grilled salmon in banana leaf are served in style, and at affordable prices with a charming wine menu to match.
