Whether you're wanting to cosy up for a Christmas dinner down The Lanes, or wish to take a stroll around the city's Winter Light Show, Brighton is a must-visit during the festive season. And after a two-year hiatus, the popular seaside town is launching a brand-new Christmas market at St Peter's Square.
Brighton last experienced a Christmas market back in 2022, as part of its Christmas Festival. This year, Brighton Winter Fayre will launch and be running from 5th December to 22nd December 2024.
Brighton Christmas Markets
The Christmas Fayre is completely free to enter and will be open every weekend in the lead up to the 25th of December. Better yet, there's set to be a whole host of entertainment on offer, including a performance from Happy Mondays star, Bez, and 'Barrioke' with former Eastenders legend, Shaun Williamson (AKA Barry Evans).
There will also be plenty of creative workshops to choose from, as well as music nights, cabaret performances and a makers market to find some last-minute Christmas gifts. Celebrations are set to go on long into the night, as a line up of DJs and live music will take centre stage.
Grab yourself a winter warmer and wander around the Christmas market, with a mulled wine in hand. Expect a central hub within St Peter's Square showcasing a range of food and drinks options supplied by local producers too. This includes award-winning plant-based kebab company, What the Pitta!, as well as delicious Neapolitan doughs from The Pizza Oven and stacked potatoes and sausages from Chubbies.
Brighton Winter Fayre takes place at St Peter's Square from Thursdays to Sundays between 5th December and 22nd December 2024. Want to find more festive activities? Have a read of the best Christmas events in Brighton that are a must-visit this season.
