Time to dust off those lederhosen and dirndls as Oktoberfest comes to Brighton for the first time, after local company Baird Event Services have applied to hold the event in The Level in October 2017. Spread across three days, it is hoped that the event will run from 12th - 14th October. The organisers have applied to host the festival in a giant tent with room for 1000 people inside and 150 sitting outside.
The event is to be split into half: before 6pm drinkers can enjoy a more traditional Oktoberfest, with an Oompah brass band providing the music. Then - in true Brighton style - the night will get going with DJs and live music from 7pm. As well as Bavarian beer, local Sussex breweries will be on site serving steins of their own produce.
