Patterns was previously known as Audio and Escape Club, where legendary artists such as Daft Punk, The Stone Roses, The Chemical Brothers, Carl Cox and Paul Oakenfold graced the premises. One of Brighton’s best-loved music venues, it reopened in 2015 following a complete redesign, giving this iconic seafront venue a new lease of life.
Patterns is unique in its ability to bring eminent DJs, promoters and live talent to its historic club space alongside hosting weddings and private parties on its stunning ground floor event space.
The south-facing sea-view terrace provides the perfect spot for after-work or pre-club drinks, offering you an idyllic view of the Brighton seascape. The terrace also hosts iconic parties in the summer, turning to unparalleled club nights in the basement.
Local craft beers and international favourites are served across both floors, alongside an extensive spirits selection and a specially curated cocktail list. They also offer half price all on their pizzas between 6pm-8pm every Friday.
The Bottomless Disco Brunch is our ultimate daytime session, taking place every Saturday. Tickets include bottomless pizza and prosecco or beer, alongside amazing tunes.
Their new weekly Friday night, Listening Bar, launches on Friday 4th March, bringing the best vinyl sounds from local record stores and collectives. Stop by for a cocktail and beats from 5pm.

Upstairs at Patterns is a multi-purpose event space located opposite the iconic Brighton Palace Pier. Originally built as hotel in the 1920's; Upstairs has retained its original Art Deco features with stained-glass windows and exposed brickwork complimented by warm cedar paneling and modern dashes of colour. From the Ohm sound system to the diamond-polished shell floor, everything has been carefully thought out and custom-designed to create a unique, spacious venue full of character and light. At the back of the venue is our private hire Room – The Hidden Room – which is ideal for groups of up to 50 and comes equipped with its very own copper-topped bar, seating/standing area and sound system. On its doorstep is a sea-facing terrace, curated every summer by one of Brighton's finest local artists. It’s the perfect sun-soaked spot for a summer party – accompanied by cold drinks, a sizzling BBQ and live acoustic sets. We have an eclectic menu of local and international craft beers, wines and cocktails and work alongside some amazing local catering teams to provide a fresh, modern food menu for our private functions – but external catering is often permitted if desired. We also offer some great optional extras including ping pong, a glitter bar, table football and photo booth hire. Patterns caters for everything from Weddings and casual daytime meetings to networking events and Summer/Christmas Parties for up to 250. Hire of our live and club venue is ideal for larger parties of up to 500.

The Hidden Room is a secret room tucked away at the back of the Upstairs venue, suitable for up to 50 people standing. It’s completely soundproofed and has it’s own dedicated plug-and-play set-up so you can play all of your own musical choices. It also has it’s own bar with a bartender included until 12am, or longer upon request. Enquire for more details! |
