Description
Hailed as something of a Brighton institution - the Fortune of War is not only one of the city's only beachfront pubs, it's one of the oldest there too!
We doubt you'll find a pub in Brighton that looks anything like the Fortune of War, in fact, we know you wont. After first opening in 1882, Fortune of War has invited its punters in for a taste of their worn interiors & 'traditional' style (you'll see what we mean!). From it's second for floor seating areas & main bar, to a large (yay!) plot of seaside seats outside, The Fortune of War is doused in beach themed thoroughfare; boasting a bar made from boats, peculiarly angled ceilings, rope hung barriers & nods to the seaside surfing community.
Whilst DJ nights, indie hits & pub playlists are to be found in entertaining abundance, there's one thing not to miss at the Fortune of War, & that's their seafront seating area. The cream of the crop when it comes to drinking by the beach in Brighton, Fortune of War's beachfront plot is heaving once the sunshine shows its face & punters come for a cold tipple or five.
