Harby’s Bar and Diner is an all-day restaurant and bar serving a seaside-inspired menu with an Americana twist. Serving perfectly piled burgers, ice cream parlour desserts, Hotel Harbour cocktails, craft beer and a wide selection of booze, this new venture seems to be a bright addition to the town’s bustling seafront.
Part of the Harbour Hotel, Harby’s interiors are made up of floral prints, plush seating and a laid-back vibe from its King’s Road location, just a stone’s (or pebble’s) throw from the beach. Its seaside home makes it an excellent spot for feasting on dishes such as posh fish and chips, aka the monkfish prosecco tempura, seafood burger with crab, prawn and scallop meat or the freshly baked prawns and clams sourdough pizza. Of course, the American classics are also up for grabs, including fresh hot dogs, a 16-hour beef brisket and vegan Philly cheese steak sandwiches.
If you’re going full stars and stripes, a hard shake is absolutely essential, with a number of different flavours and combinations to explore, including chocolate, coffee and peanut butter with your choice of spirit. Alongside these, there’s an ample selection of bespoke espresso martinis, cocktails and negronis.
