Popular gourmet burger restaurant Honest Burgers is opening its first site in Brighton this February. Taking over the site formerly occupied by Pascere on Duke Street, the new opening will be somewhat of a homecoming for founders Tom Barton and Philip Eeles.
The pair first met while working at Riddle & Finns and decided to go into business together after, “a few beers in the Bath Arms” according to a tweet from the Honest Burgers account. The first burger the pair served up was at the 2010 Brighton Food Festival. Since opening their first location in Brixton Village in 2011, they’ve become a cult sensation across London, Cambridge, Reading and Bristol for their use of seasonal produce and ethos of championing local suppliers.
The company wrapped up their announcement by adding, “Eight years later we’re back here opening a restaurant in Brighton. To say we’re chuffed is an understatement.” We’re sure the city will welcome them back with open arms.
