Whether or not you’ve got dinner booked at sister restaurant Gerard’s Bistro, this cool Fortitude Valley is worth a visit on its own. With a polished concrete bar, industrial pipes running across the ceiling and casual counter seating, the spot is very much a second date vibe, with enough details to impress without being showy. But it’s the cocktail list that will really have you swooning, as the team muddle up a signature list - try the Honeysuckle, made up of rum, honey, lemon and lavender.

On balmy evenings, head out to the cushion-strewn terrace, which expands out from an old tree with banquet and stool seating. If you’re feeling peckish, the food menu is a mouthwatering mix of Middle Eastern dishes in the form of mezze, such as broad bean falafel with aged tahini, brisket bi ajeen and sumac-spiced fries, as well as meat and cheese platters.
