Description
The steampunk-inspired Clockwork Rose offers one of Bristol’s more eccentric cocktail menus. Concoctions come in alcoholic and non-alcoholic, with names like the Pharmacutical Stimulant, Kraken’s Folly and the Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster – which Hitchhiker’s Guide to The Galaxy fans will already know to be “The Best Drink in Existence”.
Fabled to be the legendary watering hole of fictional airship captain Sebastian Commodore, the whole bar is laced with a heavy dosage of fantasy. Each cocktail comes with its own bespoke backstory, which customers will be privy to when they order.
Trinkets from the Captain’s travels – lockets, suitcases and flying goggles – are dotted around the interiors, drawing patrons deeper into this mythical world. While it’s maybe not the place for a quick pint, it’s certainly a destination drinking den for those looking for something a little more fantastical of an evening.
