Description
Based in the heart of Redcliffe, Pasture is the first solo venture from Bristol-bred chef Sam Elliot. Specialising in high-quality and lovingly-sourced local meats, the Pasture menu boasts an impressive steak selection, as well as a juicy burger, short-rib pie and a range of starters including a smoked steak tartare and grill bonemarrow with sticky onions and hot toast. While meat is a big inspiration to the restaurant, the kitchen also caters for pescatarian and vegetarian diets with a Fowey mussels, spiced carrot salad and a lentil, vegetable & mushroom pie served with sweet potato mash.
Drinks too are naturally an important aspect of the restaurant's repertoire. Cocktails feature heavily, with Pasture offering twists on classic recipes, such as a Smoked Negroni and a selection of Prosecco cocktails, many made with pasturepomp Gin - a collaboration between the restaurant and local microdistillery Psychopomp. The bar also serves draft beers and ciders from across the city, with offerings from Lost And Grounded, Wiper And True and many more.
The interiors will reflect the high-end but informal nature of the restaurant, with two storey's of floor-to-ceiling cabinets showcasing the bar's spirit selection, arched windows overlooking the 800-year old St. Mary Redcliffe church, and a muralled staircase painted by local artist Jody.
