It was quite a shock to learn that popular Bristol pizzeria Pi Shop was closing its doors in 2018. However, after months of speculation, there seems to be news of its replacement… a new dining concept mysteriously named The 3rd.
Renowned chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias, whose restaurants Casamia and Paco Tapas have learned Michelin-starred status, dropped a few hints in a newsletter to Pi Shop’s existing customer base.
He’s keeping pretty tight-lipped about the whole thing, but he has suggested The 3rd will be a casual space where guests will be able to eat at the chef’s table, bar space or chill out during the day with coffee and pastries. Given the cult status of Pi Shop and his two other acclaimed projects, Sanchez-Iglesias has set the bar high.
