Two things that we know to be true about Cambridge:
- In the height of summer, it's truly one of the prettiest destinations in the world and a must-visit, be that with locals or tourists alike, all looking to get a taste of its weaving historical streets and punting on the water.
- There are very few rooftop bars in town. And they can get all but overrun when temperatures hit upwards of 20 degrees.
Luckily for you, help has for the latter has arrived in the shape of a new rooftop bar in Eddington.
Brought you by hairdressing mogel Phil Benton, already the owner of a salon/bar hybrid nearby, the Douce team have taken to the sky, opening atop the Hyatt Centric Hotel in Eddington. Not only is this brand new rooftop bar vast in size, perfect for sunset drinks, they're keeping you well fed and watered, with sourdough slices coming from a rustic pizza oven in the same space. The drinks list follows suit with the bar on the first floor, promising a keen and curated list of craft beers and four taps, alongside canned cocktails from Whitebox and a hand-picked wine menu.
Douce Heights will be opening 24th May 2024. Address: 37 Eddington Avenue, Cambridge, CB3 1SE.
