Description
Forgotten Voices tells the remarkable real-life story of Eva Moorhead Kadalie, the wife of South Africa’s first national black trade union leader, Clements Kadalie. For over three decades, the couple fought for freedom and paved the way for Mandela. Forgotten Voices is a one woman show written by her grandson, David Moorhead, directed by Margaret Connell and stars the brilliant Shareesa Valentine as Eva.
October is Black History Month in UK and is all about sharing black heritage and uncovering those stories which have so often been overlooked. Up until now, Eva’s story has been forgotten by history – which is so often the fate of women – and especially those of colour.
“The perfect play for Black History Month.” NorthWest End Review
“Important, powerful, heartfelt, beautifully written and acted…it’s on a whole new level.” Honorarymancblog review
“A truly inspiring tale of the South African struggle.” Rogers Govender MBE
“Brilliantly acted” Nazia Mogra BBC NorthWest Tonight
