Nestled away in the Castle Quarter sits Nest 23, Cardiff’s newest cocktail bar. Aesthetically, they’re going with the moody lighting-and-cosy interiors that the name implies, with exposed brickwork, candles everywhere (including invitingly at the front), and sexy blue lighting. Away from all the comfy seating at the far end of the venue sits the classic wooden bar, lined with spirits and next to the cutely named ‘Pimp Your Prosecco’ station.

It’s all about the spirits at Nest 23. Not only do they boast a classic range of cocktails, their spirits are premium – and they want you to taste them all. In a cute little spin on the classic, you can try sharing boards of gin, rum and whisky for the special connoisseurs. Meanwhile, their Champagne and prosecco offering has the option to ‘pimp’ it, which boils down to adding a selection of fruit and makes the whole thing prettier. If you’re peckish, there’s fresh food sharing boards too.
