The famous Alchemist group is expanding its reach further, setting up shop in the Welsh capital in 2018. With a date set for March, the restaurant-bar will open on St Mary's Street and will hope to replicate the success of the group's 12 other venues in the family of bars. The expansion is part of a £4.5 million investment that will see Alchemist venues open in neighbouring Bristol and Nottingham. In true Alchemist style, the kitchen will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes from across the globe, while the expert mixologists create inventive and dazzling cocktails behind the bar.
What we say:
The Alchemist has gone from strength to strength. Since opening in Manchester back in 2009, the group's reputation has risen to new heights and now sits near the top of London's nightlife scene. And rumour has the team aren't satisfied yet, eyeing up more regional cities in 2018. We're excited for a number of reasons. The food has always been great; flavoursome dishes created using the freshest ingredients. But it's the wonderfully weird cocktails that have really caught our eye. Using every technique under the sun, each concoction twists and twirls flavours together in an intriguing mix. We have no doubt this spot is going to take over in Cardiff when it opens its door.
