The minds behind Cardiff’s Curado are set to open a new bar on Guildhall Place next year. Vermut, Catalan for vermouth, will be the first of its kind in the UK.
The bar will specialise in two massively popular Spanish aperitifs, vermouth and sherry, and models itself on small hole-in-the-wall bars found in cities like Madrid or Barcelona. There will also be a selection of wine from handpicked producers, available on draught and bottled. These will then form the base of signature cocktails.
To accompany? Tapas, of course. Vermut will serve plates of high-end enlatados (tinned fish), pickles, cheeses and cured meats.
