Brother Thai

Description

Street food royalty from Cardiff’s very own Brother Thai. Prepare yourself for big flavours from their unique Thai Rotis, and exciting take on Thai comfort food created by Andrew Chongsathien. A perfectly formed menu (with fantastic vegan options), and creative cocktails to match, offered in a stripped back street food chic setting.

The Thai Rotis are a fusion-style dish (like a large taco). A flakey paratha with a Thai inspired filling, a sweet crisp ajat slaw, fresh herbs and the right amount of heat from toasted chilli flakes and lines of Sriracha. There's an option for everyone, from their ever popular "Sticky Spicy Beef" to their equally delicious seitan and jackfruit options.

The menu is complimented by a choice of rice bowls and side plates, ranging from Thai Fried Chicken Satay, Khua Kling, to a flavourful fried Mushroom Laab and Waterfall Salad. Fresh, moorish and highly addictive. Each week, there's specials of hand-made Wontons (currently weekdays) to the world famous noodle dish Khao Soi (Sunday's only).

Cocktails will leave you equally wanting more. The Lychee Longtime is gin-busting beautiful cocktail, impressive by it's simplicity. Work your way across the Tuk Tuk Tequila, Rum Aroi, Coco Samui and Mekhong Sour and you'll be in a very happy place!

There's a reason why it's been so difficult to get a booking since opening. Simple, fresh, Thai cooking. With a reputation forged over nearly a decade on the street food scene, make this busy restaurant your go to Cardiff option.

Menus

  • Cuisine

    This venue serves Thai food.

  • A word from the chef:

Don't expect a traditional Thai restaurant. This is my very own and unique way of expressing Thai street food from my Bangkok heritage. Big flavours, inspired dishes and cocktails - all wrapped up on a simple, focused menu.
