Very Best Cardiff Comedy Clubs

Boho Club

Found right in the city centre on St Mary Street, Boho Club is a slinky bar and nightlife destination – but on Thursdays? It transforms into a chic comedy club, where you’ll be treated to a knee-slapping night of stand-up, featuring lightening-fast wit and curious observations from both seasoned and new-on-the-scene comedians.

The set starts at 6pm (although doors open at 5pm, so you’re welcome to head down early to kick-start with a drink first) and ends at a very reasonable 8pm. But if you don’t fancy an early night? Then make your way through the list of classic and signature cocktails or draught beers.

The Glee Club

The Glee Club is one of Cardiff’s most famous comedy clubs, bringing quality entertainment to Mermaid Quay. This iconic venue has been going since 2001 (founded by Mark Tughan), and has been graced by some huge names in the biz, from Peter Kay to Jack Dee and Lee Evans.

You’ll find live comedy here throughout the week, thanks to touring sets from both top comedians on the circuit and up-and-coming stars, but you also need to check out their weekend comedy sets. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, they host their award-winning comedy shows, where you’ll see some serious talent (past acts have included Romesh Ranganathan, Sarah Millican, Jo Brand and more).

And if that wasn’t enough, this joint also has quite the refreshment offering; get stuck into flavoursome chicken katsu burgers, loaded fries and handmade pizzas – pair that with a cheeky cocktail, wine or beer, too.
