Description
Cardiff is finally getting its own branch of Wahaca, the Mexican super street food that's taken London by storm. Master-chef winner and co-founder Thomasina Miers spent time living in Mexico, which inspired her to bring authentic Mexican cuisine to the British streets.
Forget mounds of cheddar cheese and greasy tortilla chips, the food at Wahaca is based on street food which uses fresh, natural ingredients to achieve just-as-delicious dishes. As well as the smaller sharing dishes from the street food menu, mains include a slow-cooked pork burrito in a habanero and achiote marinade and salads heaped with avocado, pumpkin seeds and feta.
The Cardiff branch of Wahaca is on The Hayes, two minutes from St David Dewi Sant Shopping Centre, and perfect for a shopping break. With an outdoor terrace, multi-coloured Mexican murals on the walls and a long Tequila list, Wahaca is also great for post-work drinks or starting a night out.
