Seafood Shack is a new restaurant opening in Cardiff that's inspired by the rustic food shacks scattered across California and Florida. The venue will focus on preparing fresh fish dishes, cooked to the customer's preference and served alongside a homemade sauce that's again chosen by the diner. Expect to see grilled fish fillets, fresh prawns, scallops, clams and langoustines. Crucially, the food menu will be rounded off and supported by the bar's impressive, 100-bottle strong fine wine collection.

The opening of Cardiff's Seafood Shack is part of a wider expansion across the UK. With sister venues opening at the same time in Edinburgh, London, Manchester, Sheffield, Birmingham and Bristol, the masterminds behind this American-style restaurant chain are hoping to dominate the UK's seafood scene. There's very little information available at the moment, but the 'design your own dish' option and fresh seafood is something that really excites us. Keep an eye out for the Seafood Shack name.
