From branches twisted with fairy lights through to white wrought iron band stands, The Botanist is bringing the UK's restaurant scene some of its prettiest interiors. Now, the all-day dining space is coming to Cardiff after permission has been granted for development on Church Street.

Part of The New World Trading Co, the new opening will be bringing the same New Orleans faded chic seen in sister sites (Manchester, Leeds, and Birmingham, to name a few), from white brick walls through to rickety wooden furniture and lots of potted plants. The menu is an all-inclusive mix of grill and international flavours with stand-out dishes that include huge hanging kebabs and gooey baked chocolate chip cookie dough.

And if you're not already bowled over, the knock-out drinks menu should do that, with gin-heavy drinks in beautiful vessels. Served in everything from plant pots to teapots, the cocktails are a masterclass in mixology, which is lucky, as the venue also hosts classes in gin tastings and cocktail making.
