It appears as though celebrity haunt and world-renowned restaurant The Ivy has applied to open in Cardiff, eight months after initially shelving its plans to come to Wales, in the same spot they had initially hoped to be housed.
The place they’ve got in mind? The former Jamie's Italian, located at St David's Shopping Centre. The luxury establishment has applied for an alcohol and music licence, and would be open from 8am until 12:30am. With current outposts across the UK, The Ivy are yet to open a Welsh venture.
However, it can be expected that the chain will bring Cardiff their unique take on modern British dining, featuring dishes such as The Ivy’s shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, roast beef sarnies and brunch classics to enjoy in typically swish surroundings. The restaurant has made sophisticated interior design a signature, taking inspiration from their original location in London’s West End.
