The Bernard Shaw

The Bernard Shaw was made for parties - this activity bar and boozer is home to a massive beer garden and boasts four floors of fun. Nestled near Cross Guns Bridge, the popular playground has karaoke, independent food vendors (think burgers, pizzas and more) and live music all under one roof.

If you're keen to throw a birthday party, the Craic Den is an intimate spot for around 30 of your mates, whereas The Racket Space fits a sizeable 300. There's an array of food and drink packages to choose from, featuring mozzarella sticks or BBQ and buffalo cauliflower wings, plus DJs and games you can book in (like bingo or ping pong) to spice up your bash.

BrewDog Outpost Dublin

Vegan Monday and 1 other offer

For your next party, be it a birthday or work affair, hire out one of BrewDog Outpost Dublin's diverse spaces. The well-known boozer can be spotted by the water in a 10,000ft shipping container with two floors, two bars and two outdoor terraces.

The first floor bar can hold up to 350 of your mates, ideal for a larger bash, whereas The Hangout accommodates a smaller 65. Host your event with stunning views of the River Liffey, shuffleboard, and a roaring fire pit, and sip signature brews after chowing down on tasty wings and loaded fries.

Nancy Hands

The traditional Irish boozer Nancy Hands is a welcoming, lively place to hire for your upcoming birthday, engagement or work party. Boasting live music every week, the Stoneybatter spot also has an upstairs room which can fit around 180 guests - perfect if you're searching for a pub to hire in Dublin city centre. Thanks to its proximity to the Guinness brewery, you'll find some of the best stout around here.

Enjoy quirky interiors thanks to its 18th-century roots (there's a cool, hand-carved stampage box at the front of the building, and throughout the inside, plenty of vintage trinkets). Party-wise, pick from a selection of packages, from local food-fuelled feasts (featuring bacon, kale and cheese croquettes and house burgers served with fries) to the full Irish experience, complete with entertainment.

Disndat

The charm of the city is very apparent at Disndat and, if you're looking for small party venues in Dublin, it'll always step up to the mark. Located on Dame Court, it fronts live music seven nights a week, an incredible sound system and perfect pints. Embrace the quirky, retro decor and make this buzzy spot your birthday bash venue.

From €36 per person, you can bag a private space on the terrace (and your own bar), alongside a welcome cocktail or glass of bubbles on arrival for each guest, pizzas from the famous Pi Pizza and three drinks tokens. Whatever the occasion, the team here will be more than happy to accommodate.

The Rag Trader

The Rag Trader gets its name from its location in what was once known as the rag trade district. The venue's decor is a tribute to its former self, with textile trinkets scattered throughout. Whiskey is the main event at this boozer (with over 110 types to choose from), so if you're a fan of the good stuff and looking to incorporate it into your private get-together, this is the spot for you.

Check out The Snug, a cosy space suitable for smaller gatherings, and the Parlour Room, found at the front of the venue and ideal for a semi-private affair involving 20 guests. The entire space is also available to secure for around 200 of your friends; complete with live trad sessions and signature cocktails, it's bound to be a hoot.

Black Forge Inn

You may know the Black Forge Inn for being taken over by MMA fighter Conor McGregor, but this Drimnagh Road boozer is more than just a famous face. The premium pub features chandeliers, rich-hued walls and, most importantly, a sophisticated space perfect for hosting private events.

The Bentley Room can be found above the venue with space for up to 80 guests. It comes equipped with a fully stocked bar, space for DJs and live bands and delicious food prepared in the kitchen. Look forward to locally sourced meats, fish and chips and more, all paired with quality brews.

Kehoes Pub

When it comes to small pub hire in Dublin, Kehoes has got you. The award-winning venue on South Anne Street fronts stained glass mahogany doors, old Irish snugs and plenty of traditional Victorian furnishings, staying true to its roots.

If you've got an engagement you'd like to celebrate with mates, or are looking to host a casual birthday bash, the upstairs bar is the ideal place to do so. Holding up to 60, it includes incredible service (you can even hire your own barman), drinks and food packages. For a larger do? The entire pub can welcome 150 guests for a lively soirée.

The Stag's Head

A well-known, Victorian pub in the heart of the city, The Stag's Head is a charming place to come for a pint - but did you know you can also hire out its mahogany-adorned space for a private party?

There are a variety of spaces to pick from, depending on the size of your do, from the upstairs Parlour Bar, the main bar and The Snug (rumour has it this is where Michael Collins overthrew the government), or the Stag's Tail, which is tucked away downstairs. This place can cater for anniversaries, birthdays or after-work affairs and has a wide selection of aged whiskeys to indulge in too.

Searsons

The best pub hire Dublin has to offer has got to be Searsons, the famed whiskey bar on Upper Baggot Street. Its decor is unmatched (think chandeliers, tall ceilings and bottles locked away in glass cabinets) and it fronts a rich history packed with literary connections, previously existing as the local watering hole for many journalists.

If you're looking to throw a large party in this area, we couldn't recommend this boozer enough. The whole venue can be secured to accommodate around 300 guests, with set menus from €40 and party platters from €80 to choose from. There's also a private snug to get all cosy in for smaller groups of 20 people.
