Description
One of Dublin's best-loved boozers, The Palace Bar is stooped in history. A priceless jewel that oozes Victorian charm, its fame started way back in the 40's as then-Editor of the Irish Times R.M Smyllie made it his regular haunt, It soon became the social home of newsmen, correspondents and compositors alike across Dublin's three daily papers.
Nowadays, guests are greeted with the same 189 year-old interiors that retain a sense of historic grandeur. The renowned meeting place has an electric atmosphere come match days, screening everything from hurling to rugby, football to horse races, as well as hosting regular lectures and live music sessions. The pub currently boasts an ample selection of brews and liquor, and even have their own unique brand of whiskey to enjoy while tucking into a menu of classic comfort food.
