Cameras at the ready… The Alchemist is making its Scottish debut. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the brand, they are renowned for crazy creations that bubble, smoke and come to life before your very eyes.
Having coined the phrase ‘theatre served’, The Alchemist are sure to bring plenty of drama to Edinburgh’s vibrant city centre. Signature cocktails include the Bath Bomb which bubbles up and over the glass, the Mad Hatters Tea Party which resembles a Bunsen burner and smokes with dry ice, and the Augmented Reality menu that animates your cocktails with moving illustrations via a phone app.
Of course, food will be on the cards too, with menus spanning from breakfast to dinner. Special dishes include the crispy pork belly with chorizo croquettes and sweetcorn puree, smoking fajitas and the cotton candy baked Alaska that’s set alight at the table.
Taking residency in the new St James Centre, The Alchemist will be able to fit up to 200 covers across the bar and dining terrace. Much like its other sites across the UK, it’ll tote the brand’s signature ‘dark’ aesthetic from black and gold accents, to its dim lighting and luxurious furnishings.
