Edinburgh could have an all new rooftop bar by the end of 2020 if plans for the new Johnnie Walker flagship venue pan out. Taking over the corner of Hope Street and Princes Street, the renowned brand are hoping to bring a multi-sensory, immersive experience to the city that will guide visitors through the 200-year history of the whisky, the science of distilling and the flavours that make it unique.
Spread over three floors, the venue will have roof access that will give guests the chance to get an incomparable view of the city, with plans to install a bar for the ultimate Scotch-sipping opportunity in the city. Other areas will also function as a function space for music, theatre, art and community events, as well training academy for the brand's Learning for Life programme, that helps unemployed individuals gain hospitality skills.
The Johnnie Walker experience is planning to open towards the end of 2020 at 146 Princes Street, EH2 4YZ.
