Description
Dishoom is an Indian restaurant modelled on the old Iranian cafes in Bombay. Elegant and old fashioned, the interiors call back to these old cafes – of which only a handful remain in Mumbai – with retro signs found only in old train stations, wooden furnishings and divides, and wide windows to let in natural light.
Dishoom are famed across the country for their breakfast and brunches, such as their bacon, egg and sausage naan rolls. But they also offer up a variety of delicious dishes, from chicken tikka to gunpowder potatoes. They also boast a strong vegan menu.
For drinks, head downstairs to The Permit Room, a sultry and secretive cocktail lair that sells all manner of Indian libations, as well as sharbats, coolers and fizzes. The bar is inspired by Parsi culture, and the permit-only bars once found in Bombay, with artwork inspired by famous Parsi theatre scenes.
