Timberyard

A family-run restaurant in Edinburgh city centre, Timberyard is as cool as they come. It set up shop in a converted warehouse, and now boasts rustic-chic decor; expect painted brick walls, exposed wooden ceilings and a stunning garden. It's ideal for intimate date nights and special occasions.

With the owner's son as head chef, the menu showcases unique, exciting fare from lunch through to dinner. Not only can you find delights like monkfish served alongside wild sea kale, jersey royals and horseradish, but also a simple dessert of Amalfi lemon accompanied by yoghurt and olive oil. The wine cellar is something to be reckoned with, showcasing bottles from across the globe, although there are also creative cocktails up for grabs.
