Church Street Tavern

Church Street Tavern is a charming gastropub that prides itself on being a local hub for the people of Colchester - a place for them to chat over a pint of ale and socialise over a Sunday roast. 

In keeping with it's area, Church Street Tavern is a chic and contemporary venue. The building, which was once a savings bank opened in 1852, has been beautifully restored, bringing it right up-to-date without losing any of its delightful character. Step inside and you'll discover an elegant interior - expect a neutral colour palette, rustic mahogany wooden flooring and an assortment of fetching upholstered seating. On top of that, this charming local tavern fills its walls with the wonderful artwork from Essex artist, Philippa Dow. 

In keeping with this theme of 'local charm', everything that you'll find on the menu here has been sourced from local farms and markets (or as much as possible at least). Boasting a full brasserie-style menu, diners can expect to tuck into a selection of sumptuous 'seafood', 'meat' or 'steak' dishes here.
