Glasgow gets the rock star treatment with this American-style bar and restaurant in the city in the historic Old Athenaeum Theatre on Buchanan Street. The decor is, of course, epic, taking inspiration from both the incredible setting and the rock 'n' roll theme. Cymbal light fittings, mod houndstooth lighting, and of course the ubiquitous rock star memorabilia adorning the walls - at 9000 square foot, this place is extensive.
Despite having been a venture started in London - when Eric Clapton hung his guitar on the wall of his favourite burger joint - Hard Rock has very much a Stateside vibe, dishing up all-American cuisine. Expect burgers, steaks, wings, and ribs a' plenty, though there is a nod to Scotland with a haggis themed burger (and KT Tunstell's guitar!). Following in the footsteps of Edinburgh, the Glasgow Hard Rock Cafe offers up everything from fancy private functions, to rollicking live sessions, cocktail classes and boozy brunches - this bar is a bustling one.
