Description
An edgy basement bar and restaurant, Meat is a cool and quirky addition to Glasgow foodie scene as well as boasting some of the most unique cocktails in the city.
The Southern style bar is both trendy yet unassuming; a cool carcass skull hangs on the wall like a stag's head and a neon sign set against aged painted lettering, adds something of a hipster finish to what is a simple bar, with exposed stone walls, wood panelling and leather seating. The crowd is made up of both the cool and the curious, with patrons in to check out what this place is all about.
And when it comes to Meat Bar, it's all about the menu ... and the meat. From the eats to the drinks, beef and pork play a big role in Meat's fare. Highlights on the food menu include smokehouse sandwiches and sliders while the drinks menu also airs on the side of the carnivore. The Meatojito for example, consists of pork-infused rum with pineapple, brown sugar, mint and a caramelised pork rib accompaniment. Others beefy booze are based on jerky or bacon, while Meat Bar also offers an impressive selection of craft beer. Probably not the best place to take a veggie on date night, but if you're looking for something a little different in Glasgow, Meat Bar is a succulent choice.
