Strata

Strata is a stunning restaurant and cocktail bar found on Queen Street with slick urban decor and cool warehouse vibes. The Merchant City bar reopened in 2012 with a new look and an updated menu and has been popular with cocktail lovers ever since. During the day, Strata is relatively laid-back and quiet, with office workers and shoppers popping in for lunch, but things really get going on the weekend, with drinks flowing and DJs spinning house tunes and drinks. The crowning glory at Strata has to be the cocktails, with a wide variety of tasty creations on offer. How does a vanilla and pineapple mojito sound? A orange infused white Russian? If you prefer something out of a bottle instead, Strata have a great selection of craft beers - why not try the chocolate beer from London's Meantime brewery? 

When it comes to the eats, this Glasgow bar is home to the kilo burger challenge, which involves  (you guessed it,) a kilo of beef, along with pulled pork, cheese, jalapeños, five rashers of bacon, chips and monster onion rings, all encased in a sourdough bun. Blimey. That's, a lot of food. Needless to say, many people have tried and failed the kilo burger challenge, but we're sure they had a tasty time of it. Strata is the ideal place for a girly catch up or for a craft beer (and possibly a kilo burger too?) with the guys. As it's just next to the Merchant City, it's the perfect place to drop by for a refreshment in the middle of a busy shopping trip. Strata is only a couple of minutes away from Queen Street station too, so stop by here for some after-work drinks - just make sure you don't miss your train, yeah?
