Description
Traditional pub, meets gin palace, meets speakeasy, meets seafood restaurant; The Finnieston is a restaurant bar on Argyle Street that packs a lot of punch. Buzzing seven nights a week, this cosy bar has all the charm of an old school boozer complete with maritime adornments, dark woods, stone walls, glass panelling, and low ceilings. But rather than simply a few pub staples on tap, The Finnieston pours out all manner of chic cocktails, specialising in old-world spirits like gin and absinthe - and they have a wide range on tap too if you fancy.
The crowd is a friendly blend of hungry after-workers and discerning cocktailophiles midweek, while weekends see an older crowd and couples during the day then the cool young things come in later, as Argyle Street fills up for the evening. All of the bow-tied and braces-wearing bar tenders are skilled (some award-winning) mixologists, who will patiently guide you through the ample drinks list. Food is on the fishy side, with a menu that changes often, but there are turf and veggie options too.
