For those of you who don't speak Scots (yes, it is a language!), Glasgow bar and restaurant, Stravaigin is named after the Scots word "stravaig", which means "to wander". It's quite a fitting name, given the variety of food they serve at this West End bar. On the menu, you'll find old gastro pub favourites as well as more exotic offerings like Moroccan style roasted aubergines and Indonesian fried rice with king prawns. The lively bar is also known for their "Monthly Meander" food events, which offer a variety of dishes from across the globe - and you don't even need to leave your seat.

The main focus is the food, but as Stravaigin is a sister bar of the Ubiquitous Chip, the extensive wine list makes the bar popular with the city's wine enthusiasts. The wine list is entirely selected by their team, so if you don't know where to start, you have knowledgeable staff on hand to help you out. Specialty ales and great cocktails are also available. The bar itself is both rustic and pretty, with with traditional wooden features and a cast iron staircase, along with twinkling fairylights and vintage lanterns scattered throughout. During the summer months, you can make the most of Glasgow's sun (well, sometimes) by sitting at the street-side tables outside, soaking up the Gibson Street atmosphere.
